DESIGN & WORKMANSHIP
Our bags are entirely hand cut and sewn, and there is all the attention to detail one should expect from the work of a tradesmen.
We make our own leather conditioner from beeswax, pine tar, neatsfoot oil and mutton tallow. The waxes fight moisture, the tar prevents mold and dry rot, and the oils soak in to keep the leather supple and forstall drying and cracking.
Because our bags are hand cut, we can take the various elements from the parts of the hide that make sense, the side panels for instance can be cut from the thinner softer joints for flexibility, and belts and straps cut from the tougher areas along the spine.
We use thick 13 oz vegetable tanned American made hot stuffed leather for all of our bags. A 100% clean and naturally processed leather that is strong but supple and gets only more beautiful with time.
Our field bags are made to be convertible from shoulder bag to backpack, using only one set of straps so theres nothing extra to keep track of or get lost.
All of our bags are assembled with hand hammered heavy 7 gauge solid copper rivets. Many companies use hollow rivets.
We've custom machined the holder studs on our tool bags from high grade aluminum with a solid through rivet in a softer alloy allowing it to be securely hammered in place.
